This year we are pleased to introduce new activity days for Primary Schools. These days combine fun outdoor adventures with classroom learning to ensure the pupils learn about the topic in a creative and productive way. Activities take about 4-5 hours and at only £15 per person it is an economical school trip.

We also let all teachers come along completely free!

Minimum Group Size is 20

A themed day out to set children's imagination alight! The Cuckmere Valley is an area steeped in smuggling history and Cuckmere Haven is noted in the Customs records right from the earliest days. Famous gangs lived here and one member, Jevington Jiggs, still does! He will meet your group and take you on a great adventure: he is on the run from the excise men and you must help him to find his stashed Brandy barrels and build a hide for them in the forest to keep them safe!

If the weather allows Jiggs takes the group to a place where they can see the whole valley up to the Cuckmere Haven to talk all about his gang and his rivals as well as his constant battle to evade the excise men. He will also answer anu questions you may have. In case of bad weather we have an indoor classroom for this part of the day.

This is a truly unique day that inspires children's creativity and combines eduation, sport and drama for the ultimate learning experience.

This session is taken by leaders from the Sussex Wildlife Trust and takes your group out into the forest for a walk and talk about everything nature. Each pupil carries a bag with them to collect items that interest them or catch their eye; anything from litter to leaves and everything in between! Leaders work closely with you to make sure they cover everything you are studying in the classroom to make the day as productive as possible.

The next part of the day is classroom based and focuses on creativity with your group using their collected materials to make something: a dreamcatcher with willow branches or a collage - it's your choice.

Please ensure all pupils bring a plastic bag with them but we do have spares just in case!

It is also important for them to wear appropriate clothing; wet weather gear in colder seasons and suncream and hats in the summer.

This 4-5 hour session cost just £15 per person with all teachers free!
